Police close London’s Oxford Road after wounding
Part of Oxford Road in Londonwas shut last night after a man was allegedly wounded while standing up to a moped posse who attempted to take his phone.
The casualty – a man in his 20s – was taken to hospital.
The street remained shut between Oxford Carnival what’s more, Tottenham Court Street for a few hours, yet has since re-opened.
Police, who were called to the zone at about 9.23pm last night, said there have not however been any arrests.
But posting on social media, clients guaranteeing to be witnesses have recommended the episode may have included an endeavored telephone snatch.
One publication said: ‘A fellow attempted to take his telephone what’s more, wounded him.’
Another, @ShukriEl, said:’I was strolling down Oxford road & saw what looked like a fight. As I got nearer one fellow hopped on the back of a moped what’s more, drove off.’
He added: ‘Turns out they stole a folks telephone what’s more, since he attempted to resist, they wounded him for it.
‘I called the emergency vehicle & held up till they arrived. The street was closed/buses redirected & the entirety time I was just tryna deep, all of this over a phone???’
The man’s wounds are not thought to be life-threatening.

A representative for the Metropolitan Police told MailOnline: ‘Police were called at around 21:23hrs to reports of a wounding on Oxford Street.
‘Officers gone to along with LAS.
‘A man thought to be in his 20s was found with a wound wound.
‘He has been taken to a focal London hospital.
‘There have been no captures at this stage.’
She included that enquiries are ongoing.
